AI Search Visibility (GEO)

Many people no longer settle for a list of links on Google. They ask ChatGPT, Gemini, or Perplexity, or read the AI summary at the top of search results.

GEO, short for Generative Engine Optimization, is the work of making your brand, its information, and its content clear, accessible, and useful, so these systems can understand them correctly when they answer questions related to what you offer.

These systems decide for themselves what to show and whom to mention, and I can't control their answers. What I can work on is the quality of the information they rely on.

Where SEO and GEO meet, and where they differ

They aren't separate worlds. AI answers may appear inside the search engine itself, like the summaries at the top of Google results, or in standalone tools such as ChatGPT, Gemini, and Perplexity. Clear content and a sound technical setup serve both. The main difference is in focus and in how the work is tracked:

SEOGEO

TrackingImpressions, clicks, and queries in Search ConsolePeriodic review of answers to specific questions, and referral visits from these systems when they can be identified in the data

That's why, before starting, I define which SEO fundamentals your website needs and the scope for addressing them.

When you need it

  • You ask an AI tool about your field, and it mentions your competitors but not you.
  • Answers describe your company with outdated or inaccurate information.
  • Your customers are among the people who rely on these tools to search and compare.
  • You have a solid SEO foundation and want to take the next step.

What the service can include

The scope of each project is set according to what you need, and may include:

Current-state review
how AI systems currently describe your company and your field, based on a set of questions your customers typically ask.
Clarity about your company
who you are, what you offer, to whom, and where, written clearly and consistently on your website.
Consistency across sources
reviewing what's published about you in your accounts and public profiles, so your name, description, and services don't contradict each other from one source to another.
Answer-first content
pages that open with a clear answer to a real question, then explain the details, in a way that serves the reader first.
Technical accessibility
making sure your website's content can be reached and read, and that settings aren't blocking what you want understood.
Structured data
added where it matches real content visible on the page, not as a formality.
Tracking
revisiting answers to the same questions over time, and noting what has changed.

Service limits

  • No guarantee that your company or website will be mentioned in answers from ChatGPT, Gemini, or any other system.
  • No control over the answers I can't control or directly edit the answers AI systems give. What I can do is improve the information published about your company, without a guarantee that it will be reflected in every answer.
  • No tricks or content written for machines instead of people. Content that doesn't help the reader isn't good work, in GEO or in SEO.

How I work on it

  1. Identify the questionswhat do your customers actually ask when they look for a service like yours?
  2. Review current answersto those questions across more than one system.
  3. Review your website and public presencewhat's clear, what's missing, and what contradicts itself.
  4. Improvecontent, page structure, consistency of information, and the technical aspects, where I define what's needed and oversee its implementation.
  5. Review againover time.

What I need from you

  • Accurate, up-to-date information about your company, services, and where you operate.
  • A list of your accounts and public profiles online.
  • Access to edit your website, or coordination with whoever manages it.
  • The questions your customers usually ask you. They're one of the best starting points.

FAQ

Can you guarantee ChatGPT will mention my company?

No. These systems decide their answers themselves, and their answers change from one question to another and over time. What I work on is making the information available about you clear, accurate, and useful, which is what these systems rely on.

Is GEO a replacement for SEO?

No. The two overlap heavily, and much of what makes your website understandable to search engines also makes it understandable to AI systems. Before starting, I define which SEO fundamentals your website needs and the scope for addressing them.

AI answers include wrong information about my company. What can be done?

I can't edit these answers directly or control what they say. What I can work on is the information published about your company: making it clear on your website and consistent across your accounts and public profiles. That doesn't guarantee it will be reflected in every answer, and any effect takes time, but it's the path available.

How do I know whether the work is having an effect?

By reviewing how these systems answer the same questions over time, and tracking visits from them in your website data when they can be identified. Measurement here is less precise than for ads or SEO, and I'll be upfront with you about that.
